<p>I got the pilots address at <lb/>Galway & I wired here for him <lb/>& got him to Galway he <lb/>charged me £4: a tidy penny <lb/>but in any case he would <lb/>have charged me £3: from <lb/>this Bay into the Harbour & <lb/>for the sake of the extra <lb/>£1: I would rather have him <lb/>to Galway: as the weather <lb/>was so <unclear>treacherous</unclear> with <lb/>a hight vessel coming <lb/>amongst a lot of Rocks <lb/>left me uneasy: thank God <lb/>I got here. I hope to get <lb/>out the Ballast tomorrow <lb/>& start loading on Saturday <lb/>it takes about five days <lb/>to load I hope the weather <lb/>may <unclear>Rup</unclear> fine & dry as we <lb/>are off at anchor & the <lb/><unclear>Kelp</unclear> is brought off in Boats <lb/>& I also hope when I am <lb/>ready that weather will be <lb/>fine to get a good passage <lb/>north or south: for this would <lb/>be an awfull shanty to be <lb/>stuck in among the <gap/> <lb/>prio of <gap/>: & can't <lb/>get a loaf of bread only <lb/>on Friday & for <unclear>Buf</unclear> thats <lb/>out of the questions: dear <lb/>Lizzie send me £5: I <lb/>will get the rest on a/cc <lb/>freight when I am loaded <lb/>there is a money order office <lb/>here: about Martin's cheque <lb/>there is no bank here: but <lb/>I think you best send it <lb/>to me & I will endorse it <lb/>& return it to you & I suppose <lb/>you will get it cashed at <lb/>home</p>
