<p>Geoffrey Wieslan was doing. <lb/>The railway between Folkstone <lb/>& Dover like that on Bray Head <lb/>has collapsed. So I got on a motor <lb/>bus. unfortunatately when I got about <lb/>half way I found an <gap/> <lb/>guard and as I hadn't a pass <lb/>I had sorrowfully to take the next <lb/>bus back to Folkstones.</p> <p>Folkstone seems a decent sort <lb/>of place. <del>and</del> — an enormous <del>about</del> amount <lb/>of khaki about — mostly <gap/> <lb/>and every second <gap/> one passes <lb/>seems to speak French. — the front <lb/>was quite an interesting study <lb/>after the desolation of Lough Swilly.</p> <p>Rather a queer coincidence <lb/>my meeting Goldsworthy there. — <lb/><unclear>merely</unclear> to say I was walking <gab> <lb/>past his <unclear>when</unclear> he pulled me up — <lb/>then followed the <gap/> moment <lb/>till I had placed him!
