<p><unclear>worried</unclear> for France & so I wonder <lb/>what he'll get.</p> <p>I have suddenly remembered that <lb/>old <gap/> book is at <unclear>Hasleys</unclear> <lb/>I have been trying to get him on the <lb/>Phone tonight but he was <unclear>apparently</unclear> <lb/>out I hope I shall be able to <lb/>see him some afternoon — I am <del>but</del> <unclear>much</unclear> <lb/>looking forward to doing so — he <lb/>was. certainly a very good old <lb/><gap/>.</p> <p>[Tues.] The <gap/> is on <sic>Frid</sic> and <lb>now they are working us pretty <lb/>hard as there seems to be rather <lb/>a shortage of time. Today has been <lb/>9.0 — 12 — 30 <unclear>&</unclear> 2 — 40 <unclear>5—7</unclear> as well as <lb/>work in the evening. — So I'll stop <lb/>now — I'm afraid there's practically <lb/>no chance of leave — brother Charles</p>
