Irishwomen's Association. <salute>Dear Madame,</salute> <p>As the outcome of a Conference recently held in Dublin on "The <lb/>Position of Women in Industry in Ireland," an Irishwomen's Association <lb/>has been formed with the following objects:— <lb/>1. To be a centre of information on all questions affecting women <lb/>and children in Ireland. <lb/>2. To act as a link between existing organisations concerned <lb/>with such questions.</p> <p>It is proposed to carry out these objects— <lb/>(a). By collecting and tabulating information. <lb/>(b). By studying existing legislation and its administration. <lb/>(c). By publications. <lb/>(d). By organising conferences.</p> <p>It is the aim of the Association to form a bond between societies <lb/>and individuals who have the welfare of Ireland at heart, and who desire <lb/>to help in building up a better civilization after the war. It is not pro— <lb/>posed to initiate any new work, but to co—ordinate and make available <lb/>for the use of all the experience and information already possessed by <lb/>scattered individuals and societies. It is hoped that the Association will, <lb/>in time, constitute a body of informed opinion with the regard to any pro— <lb/>posed fresh legislation, or to the working of existing legislation affecting <lb/>women and children.</p> <p>The Association will consist of— <lb/>1. Individual members, subscribing 2/— annually. <lb/>2. Affiliated societies, subscribing 2/6 annually. <lb/>3. Ex—officio members, secretaries of women's trade unions and <lb/>co—operative guilds.</p>
