Clare</address> <date>21 June 1916.</date> <lb/>MEMORANDUM FROM <lb/>THOMAS O'RIELLY. <lb/>POULTRY, GAME, BUTTER, EGGS, &c. &c. <lb/>To <hi rend="underline">The Under Secretary. Dublin Castle</hi>. <lb/> Dublin. <lb/>Sir, <p>I have this day been notified by the R.I.C. <lb/>to stop buying wool until further notice.</p> <p>What I desire to draw your attention to is this, that I have <lb/>advanced <hi rend="underline">money to several farmers</hi> in this locality, and <lb/>supplied them with wool bags, for this seasons dip.</p> <p>Now this order places me in a very awkward position, as <lb/>buying wool has to a certain extent been my occupation. <lb/>I hope you will give this matter your immediate consideration. <lb/>If you require any references, I can refer you to <hi rend="underline">Mr. Sydney Smith</hi> <lb/>one of <del>your</del>the Inspectors. <add>of Department of Agriculture</add></p> <salute>Yours etc.</salute> <lb/><hi rend="underline">Thomas O'Reilly</hi> <note>Refer him to the Army <lb/>Contracts Dept.
