<p>my dressing gown before <lb/>going to bed. I feel <lb/><unclear>fearfully</unclear> tired too. I've <lb/>been <unclear>mowing lawn</unclear> & <lb/>picking fruit all day. <lb/>I hate <unclear>mowing lawn</unclear>. It's <lb/>horrible work. all the <lb/>men are haymaking. <p>Well, dearest boy, I'm sure <lb/>I havent a scrap of <lb/>news either. I haven't <lb/>been anyplace (except <lb/>to tennis on <unclear>Tuesday</unclear>) <gap/><del>)</del> <lb/> I didn't play but <lb/>looked on. I'm doing <lb/>the <gap/> still!</p> <p>Do you know Michael <unclear>Higgins</unclear> <lb/>He was there. He has <lb/>just arrived back from <lb/>France, I think, on 6 weeks' <lb/>leave, poor chap, he <lb/>has been laid up with <lb/> <unclear>fever</unclear> & in hospital <lb/>during the past 3 months. <lb/> I met his sisters too, <lb/>both very nice girls. <lb/>Molly is still away & <lb/>there isn't much chance <lb/>of her coming back <lb/>while there is any <lb/><gap/> to be had in <lb/>Roscommon. But mother</p>
